As I looked out from my bedroom window, I saw a perfect beginning! The sky was smiling, the birds were singing, and I needed to hurry up! Or I would’ve missed my opportunity to blow bubbles! So I quickly ran out the door to the front lawn wearing my jumper and pants, and began to blow bubbles. I unscrewed the lid of the bubble formula and dipped the bubble blower in and BLEW! The variety of bubbles I blew was tremendous – big, small, medium, even extra small. And the best part was I got to pop them.

But one occasion I blew, I blew a huge bubble. Not huge but GIGANTIC! I thought that this would be the loudest pop EVER! But I was proven wrong. As I tried to pop it, I pushed myself into the bubble! I frantically shoved and pushed the bubble, trying to get out. But it was no use, as I had already been lifted from earth. Higher, higher and higher … I gently rose. I shut my eyes tightly then opened it again to see if this was only a dream. But unfortunately, it wasn’t, and I was dead scared.

After I had been in the bubble for quite some time (about one minute) I decided to pluck up the courage and stand up. So I stood up and I saw a lovely and beautiful scene! The sun, eager to rise, the sky waiting to shine and I had also spotted a girl swinging on her colourful swing. When I observed it more closely, I realised that this girl was in my neighbourhood. I would recognise her anywhere! The same smooth silky blond hair, a smile that warmed the world and those eyes that sparkled like diamonds. Suddenly she jumped of her swing and started waiving to me. I waived back. But she couldn’t go anywhere beyond her fence.

As we parted I felt lonely, yet excited. I slowly sat down and started to enjoy the journey. I was feeling calm and serene. But I shouldn’t have, because right in front of me, was a huge power line. All of a sudden my feelings were turned upside down.

I had immediately started panicking! I started to jump, push and shove, like I had ants in my pants. The power line was coming closer. I needed a miracle! At the very last moment, I ducked. I shut my eyes so hard that my eye muscles started hurting. I feared the most, waiting for my death, but instead of death I faced relief. I opened my eyes and looked behind me. As I had guessed, it was the power line. I had thought that I had just barely missed the power line by millimetres! I breathed a sigh of relief. But as I was feeling better, things just got worse.

I had spotted a flock of birds flying nearby at top speed, and I thought they would pass without touching my bubble. But my hunch was wrong! The birds came straight at me and furiously pecked my bubble. “POP!” went the bubble and “aaahhhh” was my response! As I fell, I quickly remembered the bubble mixture in my left pocket. I swiftly took it out and blew another gigantic bubble that saved me from a fall and would have helped me land safely. “Phew” was all my mind could think. I had leaned against the bubble and as I slumped down and decided to rest, my pressure once more “popped” the bubble. That time I was too scared to do anything, and with my instincts I had shut my eyes and curled up in a ball. I was still hoping it was just a nightmare. Then all of a sudden, it was still. I took this chance to reveal my eyes to the surroundings, and right in front of me was my neighbourhood friend.

We were trapped in a bubble, which I assumed was hers. She took my hand, and lifted me to my feet. I can’t tell you how glad I was because she was all I needed to have! Hand in hand, the girl led us down peacefully back to earth. As we drifted back, I thought of how to escape my mum’s angry voice. But when we landed, the girl gently tapped me on my shoulder and when I turned around our bubble had vanished, and we were standing on my front lawn.

She then signalled for my bubble mixture, which I had forgotten was still in my pocket. I slowly took it out and tossed it to her. She blew and she blew and eventually blew a gigantic one like I had. Then she calmly walked into the bubble and took off like a helium balloon. I was turning back to my house when suddenly I turned back to the girl. The bubble mixture; came flying through the air and landed in my hand. As I had caught it, I waved at her then I ran back into my house.

Up, Up, Up and Away!

It was an absolutely, fantastic, brilliant morning, the birds sweet chirping lingered in the air and the sky was a perfect, pure blue. I woke up and saw how absolutely perfect the day was, I thought about playing with my new bubble mixture. So I grabbed my bubble mixture and shot outside like there was no tomorrow. I started blowing bubbles as if I were a bubble-making machine. I popped some bubbles and some gently floated away. On my first attempt to blow a gigantic bubble it worked and I was starting to feel excited, the bubble seemed magical and it was calling me to jump in, so I thought about it, then I jumped in.

At first it was a little tricky to balance but after a while I got the hang of it. Inside there was a soapy smell and the walls felt smooth and slippery. The view of the town was glorious. I suddenly saw my neighbour (with bright blond hair and a smile that would make anyone go “awww”) waving to me.

Duun, Duun, Daaa! It was the scariest thing I have ever seen (well in this situation anyway) “POWER LINES” I thought the power lines would eat my bubble and I would plummet to Earth like a barrelling meteor whizzing through space. I tried to blow myself away (it didn’t work!). So I ducked down and prepared for the worst. I made it, with only nanometres to spare. I breathed a sigh of relief, but I shouldn’t have as a flock of birds were coming at me. Arragh! Pop! Suddenly I found myself plummeting downwards, I knew what I had to do! I got my bubble mixture and blew a bubble bigger than the universe! The bubble was big, but it did not have the strength of an Olympic medallist so you guessed it, it popped. I closed my eyes and clenched my fists, expecting the end. I dropped my bubble mixture. Suddenly I stopped falling!

I opened my eyes my neighbour had saved me. I felt so grateful because I owed her my life. We floated down to my house, then she blew a bubble and left. Suddenly my bubble mixture came out of nowhere and I caught it and held it as if it were gold. I went home and let the wind close the door for me.
